Participants will learn how to make the medical record their strongest witness by clearly documenting clinical decision-making, actions taken, and rationale. Real world examples will illustrate how medical records are scrutinized and used during discovery and trial, highlighting practical strategies to reduce risk.
About Our Speakers
Rhianna M. Fronapfel, JD Attorney/Director Bennet Bigelow & Leedom, P.S.
Rhianna is an experienced attorney who focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers and facilities in medical liability litigation, licensing and disciplinary litigation, and related appeals. She has an extensive background in general liability defense, and has represented clients in complex negligence litigation, employment litigation, and appellate matters. She has argued cases before the Washington Court of Appeals, and has briefed cases on behalf of her clients, and as amicus on behalf of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, before the Washington Supreme Court. Rhianna also currently serves as courtesy instructor for the health law program at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching the medical malpractice course. Rhianna has been selected to the Washington Super Lawyers® list over multiple years throughout her career.
Anne Flitcroft, RN, BSN Vice President of Risk Management Physicians Insurance
Anne Flitcroft has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, much of it in clinical risk management and patient safety. She is credited with developing several of the risk-evaluation and assessment tools available to PI Members to improve processes and implement best practices. Prior to joining PI, Anne worked as a registered nurse as well as Director of Risk Management, Privacy, and Compliance at an acute care hospital in Oregon.
